Day 31

Day 31: American Unicorns | RedHanded

American Unicorns
Once every 1,000 years, two people come together and use their words to change the course of the world, as we know it. We are not those two people, but we like to pretend we are. Now you may be asking yourself, what is an American Unicorn? If you don’t have an answer to that question you need to leave right now… American Unicorns don’t explain themselves. In fact that will be a theme on our podcast, a lack of explanation, as well as a general dislike of most things, like slow walkers. If you are a slow walker you also need to leave right now, we don’t have time for your ambling, purposeless lumbering. If you are not one of the aforementioned people, we hope you enjoy our podcast and maybe you will learn something about yourself along the way. At the very least you will know what an Alicorn is…

RedHanded the podcast jumps head first into all manner of macabre madness. We cover everything from big time serial killers (and those you may never have heard of), to hauntings, possessions, disturbing mysteries, bizarre whodunits and basically anything that tickles our creepy fancy. So, join us, plug in, sit back and prepare for scares.

American Unicorns: The Maryland Goatman

The Goatman is an axe-wielding half-animal, half-man creature that began his life as scientist who worked in the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center. Or he emerged from a hellmouth located at Glen Dale Sanatorium 5 minutes from my house. I hope you enjoy listening to Chapter 3 as the Goatman roams the woods behind my house planning my murder.

“American Unicorns is a delightfully meandering exploration of (mostly) American cryptids, produced and hosted by Hillery and Laura. The girls have amazing chemistry that lends to a wonderfully inclusive atmosphere. You feel like you’re hanging out with friends, talking about strange folklore over a cocktail.”

RedHanded: The White House Farm Massacre

A secluded farmhouse, religious mania, psychosis and a total bloodbath. Today we attempt to untangle one of the most notorious cases in British history. When five members of the Bamber family were slaughtered in one bloody night – what really happened? What does the evidence say and why does so much of it seem totally contradictory? We examine the old evidence, the new evidence and even poke around the ‘missing’ evidence to ask if justice has really been served.
More episodes of note: The Dexter Copycat Killer | Serial Killer Survivor to YouTube Star

“I am a huge fan of crime podcasts and RedHanded doesn’t disappoint. This pod does a great job building the background of the story before getting into the thick of the crime. These ladies did a wonderful job researching the case and making U.K. specific colloquialisms understandable to an international audience. I love that both hosts share leading the story. Gladly chill on a dark and stormy night and listen to them tell tales! #BowieOnATractor”

“Suruthi and Hannah both do a nice job of retelling the details of the crime and the trial they’re focusing on. They go through the evidence in a detailed way. Instead of simply recapping it, they analyze its validity. Both women are articulate and well spoken as they talk through their thoughts on the crime’s details and evidence.”
