The Project Runway fashion guru gets cozy and candid with interviewer Kara Mayer Robinson and dishes on EVERYTHING – his true feelings about Project Runway judges, being single, losing his temper, family issues, email, stalkers, TV, cringe-worthy moments, plus-size models and what he does in the privacy of his own home. “I might be biased because I love Tim Gunn, but listening to this episode was an absolute delight. The host was excellent at letting the guest take the lead and asking questions to guide the discussion. This episode hits the sweet spot of interviews: insightful without being pandering, entertaining without being fluff, and overall being heartfelt without being schmaltzy.”
“It is no surprise when reading about the show that host Kara Mayer Robinson used to be a therapist. She has an instant connection with guests that leads to an almost confessional, highly intimate conversation with the people we are used to just getting sound bites from. In this episode she picks up with Tim Gunn right where they presumably left off when writing her famous Gunn focused NYT piece. While Gunn certainly hasn’t been shy in recent years about sharing his life experiences, we hear a lot of the reasons behind his daily rituals and behaviors that were new to me. I’m happy to have this show on my radar and am looking forward to diving into more episodes.”

“Kara is truly an amazing interviewer. She never lets an opportunity to squeeze more detail out of story go by, while simultaneously keeping the interviews comfortable and candid. The Tim Gunn episode is especially delightful, and I can’t wait to listen to more.”

My Neighbors Are Dead: Poltergeist with Paul F. Tompkins & Tawny Newsome LIVE!
Most of the neighbors in our stories sit next to the action, but on today’s episode we learn of a couple that may be the catalyst for all of the horrors the Freeling family experienced. This episode of My Neighbors Are Dead was recorded live at Go Comedy! Improv Theater as a part of The Detroit Improv Festival.

“This episode gives a comedic interview with the fictional couple that lived next door to the house from Poltergeist. The improvisation throughout the episode had me in stitches. To top it off, performing this episode live in front of an audience could have been disastrous. But the chemistry between all members on the show made for a wonderful and entertaining listen. A fresh idea in podcasts that will appeal to comedy fans and horror fans alike.”

“As anyone can tell you, a story is great – from a certain point of view. So how about a podcast that explores the point of view of a character in the movie that isn’t the star of the show? Welcome to My Neighbors Are Dead which features different comic guests to play the parts of little known characters from different films. A fun escape!”
